NGC 4248

Telescope: Hubble Space Telescope, 2.4m Reflector, 57.6m FL
Camera: Wide Field Camera 3 (Ultraviolet and visible light channels), about 3' x 3' field of view, 4096 x 4096 pixels
Exposure: Processed with Photoshop.
Image Center (J2000): RA 12h 17m, DEC +47° 24'

Dwarf galaxy of M106, mag 12.5, 13' to its ENE. The bright star near the top is mag 14.7. The image is cropped to about 2.5' x 1.5'. Two blue layers were used. The 336nm layer added most of the central blue detail. This data was obtained as part of a proposal to build the first HST UV atlas of 50 nearby star-forming galaxies.
