The M7 star cluster contains primarily bright blue stars indicating the cluster is young and in the foreground. In the background are stars reddened by galactic dust. The black areas mask background stars and are further evidence of the dust. To the right above center is the globular cluster NGC 6453 more distant than most background stars, obscured by more dust and consequently nearly the reddest object in this image.
